Prayers for Kacey
Kacey was born on 2/6/2020 with congenital heart defects that include Double Outlet Right Ventricle, Transposition of the Great Arteries, Ventricular Septal Defect, and Atrial Septal Defect. Her heart is also compressing a lung which has caused it to hyper inflate and the other to fill with blood, making it difficult to breathe. Drs advised that open heart surgery would be required, and that time has come.
We have been told that she will have surgery within the next 7 days. We will have a definite date later today but even then, they said there are openings tomorrow, Friday, as well as Mon, Tue,& Wed of next week. If no one fills tomorrow’s spot, it could be as early as tomorrow. We will be meeting the surgeons later tonight or tomorrow so that they can discuss which type of surgery they intend on doing and they have advised that they plan to do a complete repair: patch the bottom and top holes in her heart, and switch the two arteries so that they are in place for proper anatomy. The surgery that is planned will also relieve the pressure on her lungs. She will continue to be hospitalized after surgery for a minimum of 1 week depending on how well surgery goes. We were advised to stay in Houston for 2 weeks after she is released in case we come across any complications in the days after surgery and her entire recovery consists of a total of 7 weeks.
At this time we ask for anyone who is willing to please pray for our baby girl. Thank you for your continued prayers. #prayforkaceymorgan
