Rachael was just being a great mom and checking the location of her grown sons before heading to bed when her world was turned upside down. Erik, who's 1500 miles away at college, was pinging as being at a hospital. He was found in an alley severely beaten and is now in critical condition. He underwent brain surgery and had to have part of his skull removed due to swelling. He’s on a ventilator in ICU in critical condition. They have no idea how severe it will all be until he wakes up.

She will be by his side soon, but there's no certainty what the next few days and weeks will be for her and Tyler (Erik's brother).
