Prayers for Cierra
Donation protected
Hi friends.
As most of you know by now, our family was informed two weeks ago that my beautiful granddaughter Cierra was involved in a very significant head on collision.
She was intubated at the scene and was airlifted to the trauma centre in London where she currently remains on a trauma unit.
She sadly suffered from a very serious brain injury and although awake and breathing, her condition remains quite serious and we continue to wait and pray for a sign of our girl coming back to us. Her injury is referred to as a DAI – in short form the force of impact caused her brain to shear or tear in places.
At this point we have no answers to what a future looks like for her – we have been assured it will take ‘time will tell’ and patience for her recovery. Likely months at this time.
As is expected with something like this, there are costs associated with immediate needs in order for immediate family to be with her every day. ie gas, hotel bills, food, time from work etc.
Firstly, at this time I am asking for everyone to continue to offer us your prayers and support for Cierra. This is by far more important than anything right now. Secondly, please share this with as many people as you can. Cierra needs all the love possible from near and afar so please keep sharing. We want to ensure continued prayers for her. Thirdly, if it is possible to help financially in any way, whether $5 or $10 or $50 it would be so appreciated by us and we would be eternally grateful for anything at this point. Although things will start to even out once the insurance kicks in, until then it will continue to be a struggle for the select few that are dedicating their time to Cierra.
I want to personally thank everyone who has reached out to express compassion for this unimaginable situation we find ourselves in. From our hearts to yours we thank you.
P.S. At this point Cierra is on a trauma unit that has very strict and unforgiving rules. The visitation is firm and limited to 4 people only and only 1 per day in total. Until policies change either related to COVID 19 or in general, I ask that everyone be patient. This is not a situation that we can control ourselves. Cierra can not be at any added risk and that will be priority always.
