Prayers for Christopher

Dear Friends,
A very important young person in our community Christopher Yon - Simon (16 yrs old) went yesterday for a routine Sinus check up and the doctors found a LARGE MASS/TUMOR growing at the base of his skull. The size of the mass is impeding the proper return of Cerebral fluid to his spinal column and causing swelling on the brain. There is no reasonable medical explanation that Christopher was not suffering from further complications of seizure or other neurological problems. He is beginning a journey of brain surgery estimated for 6-8 hours today. The tumor will need to be biopsied to rule out any cancer. This is expected to be a long recovery.
This is Christopher’s post prior to surgery:
“As some of you may know, I am in the hospital for a brain tumor. For all of you who are worried, all you guys can do for me is remain calm and pray for me as I enter surgery to be tumor-free. Pray that I will be safe, that all goes well, and that YOU will stay calm as I am now. I wish you all a good night and a good weekend. See you all soon!”
This young man is a LIVING MIRACLE who needs your prayers and support. He is the example of the precious presence of every hour of every day, for no one knows their time or where their destiny lies.
Christopher Yon is a Student of South Lakes High School in the IB program and honor role. He works hard at two jobs; Lifeguard in Hunter’s Woods Reston Community Center and Ledo’s. Christopher is an important part of his community in Reston. He regularly volunteers in Reston and as part of the family of Reston Community Church. He is an amazing support to his mother and his sister (12 years old).

We are Allen and Jody Schissler / Jan Hanus and Alison Adams and we all are from Reston, VA. Rosa Simon is our close family friend in need. The Schissler’s family is helping Rosa and Christopher on daily basis. Christopher and his family have a long way ahead of them starting with relocating to Boston of Philadelphia for a six week radiation treatment and then long chemotherapy. Rosa will use the funds to pay for the stay and live away from home and some medical expenses that are not covered under Christopher's insurance. The funds will be withdrawn on behalf of Rosa Simon through Pile of Smile - Wish fund for kids with cancer (501(c)3 organization) and the full amount is going to be available to the family asap.
