I am Dana Reminger, asking for help for my daughter, Taylor Stafford, her husband, Scott Stafford and their newborn son sweet JJ.

My daughter had a very healthy pregnancy with no complications. Taylor went into labor, one day short of her due date. When getting checked in, they discovered that JJ had a low heart rate and did an emergency C-section. This is when the nightmare began. When JJ was born, his heart was not beating and he was not resuscitated for 20 minutes. This valuable time that he was not with us caused a lot of damage to his little body.

In simple terms, JJ’s body went without oxygen for 20 minutes, and sadly, that has affected nearly every system. He also inhaled meconium before birth, which has added to the complications he’s facing.

Right now, JJ is on a ventilator and receiving many life-saving interventions to maintain his vital signs. With this care, he is currently stable. He has been placed on cooling therapy, which helps reduce further damage and gives his body time to heal before other treatments can begin. This therapy will last 72 hours.

So far, he is showing incredible strength. Just yesterday, JJ was described as “actively dying.” Today, doctors are calling him “very sick.” That might not sound like much, but to us, it’s a huge step forward—and we are celebrating this win. Every small improvement in his systems, even the tiniest one, matters deeply to us.

We are now in the longest battle of our lives. Sometimes it’s moment by moment, but we believe in our baby’s fight—and in God’s power to make a way. We need prayer.

Doctors keep reminding us that JJ is not out of the woods. But we believe in a God who knows the way through the woods. We are speaking life over our baby. We have declared authority in the name of Jesus, and we are proclaiming that we will take our baby home—alive, healthy, and whole.

We’re asking for specific prayers:

• That all seizure activity will stop completely. JJ has had a few seizures, and we are believing that Jesus is healing the root cause.

• That his lungs will be miraculously repaired to support the pressure needed to push blood through his body.

• That his heart will grow strong.

• That his blood pressure will stabilize so he can begin weaning off medications.

• That all of his organs—every single one touched by damage—will begin to heal.

We are thankful for life-saving interventions and modern medicine, but we also believe God’s power is greater than anything we can understand. We are speaking life over JJ. We rebuke death and declare that God did not resurrect our baby only to bring him this far. In the name of Jesus, we will see victory.

JJ is a fighter, and we praise God for giving him that spirit. We ask that you lift him up in prayer. We are worshiping through this storm, trusting that God is still in control. We are expectant of a miracle and praying that today brings new signs of improvement.

We are speaking life, healing, and restoration over his body. Thank you in advance for your prayers. I will do my best to keep you all updated as we walk this journey. We have faith that God will be glorified through it all.
