Prayers and Support for Tom Bland and Family
Donation protected
On Tuesday, July 8th, Tom Bland, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to so many, was involved in a traumatic accident at the home of his deceased parents on Topsail Island, North Carolina. Both a leg and arm were trapped in a way that led to the amputation of one of his legs. With the help of his wife, daughter, neighbor and friend, he kept his life before the ambulance arrived and took over his care, taking him to the emergency room at a hospital in Wilmington, NC. On Thursday the 10th, he underwent amputation surgery, and the doctors also chose to work on his arm because his heart was having trouble with the anesthesia, and they did not want to risk putting him under again. He is still sedated and not awake, in critical condition.
**Prayers are urgently requested for his heart to be strengthened to help him awaken and recover from these events and the surgery. His heart was already weak before the accident, and it is now further weakened.
**Donations are extremely helpful to the family to cover medical expenses and the extra expenses accrued by the family, such as the need for his wife Diana and daughter Bob to stay at a hotel next to the hospital.
Thank you for your prayers and donations in this difficult time for Tom and his family.
