Prayers and Support for Soleil

On Monday, January 22, 2018, pure and gentle Soleil Asdaghi Beattie passed suddenly from this world at the tender age of 8. Soleil was known for her perpetually joyful and generous spirit, her endless creativity and her capacity to nurture those around her, especially the younger ones. Her bright eyes revealed a thoughtful and insightful soul yearning for a life of service that was already well underway.

In the immediate hours and days following her passing, her unending power to unite the hearts of those around her endures profoundly as we celebrate her precious life. Her radiant spirit is felt by so many in all corners of the world as she showers us with comfort and solace.

Though we grieve the brevity of her earthly life, we are confident in the triumphant welcome she is receiving in the next world from the Concourse on High.

The Beattie and Asdaghi families are grateful for the prayers and offers of support that have been pouring in from around the world. Let us continue to embrace them in an ocean of prayers for the progress of Soleil’s soul and the strength of her family.

In order to assist the family with funeral and other associated costs, contributions can be made here.

In addition, a Meal Train ( has been set up to coordinate meals for the family.

From a letter by 'Abdu'l-Bahá', son of the Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith, to a grieving mother in the voice of the departed child:

"‘O thou kind Mother, thank divine Providence that I have been freed from a small and gloomy cage and, like the birds of the meadows, have soared to the divine world—a world which is spacious, illumined, and ever gay and jubilant. Therefore, lament not, O Mother, and be not grieved; I am not of the lost, nor have I been obliterated and destroyed. I have shaken off the mortal form and have raised my banner in this spiritual world. Following this separation is everlasting companionship. Thou shalt find me in the heaven of the Lord, immersed in an ocean of light.’”

Our hearts go out to the family in this time of great loss, and we are comforted in knowing that dear Soleil is now with her Creator in a world of light.
