In 2012, Anna was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Almost from the very beginning, Mr. Robert (Wilcox), (as Anna calls him!) who initially only knew us through a friend in his motorcycle club in an online forum, was a major support to Anna and our family. Over the past 9 years, he has written encouraging notes to our family, sent Anna birthday and Christmas cards and gifts, made her some of his original, irreplaceable art, followed her journey and been a financial supporter, and fed her Chickfila habit! Plus more...so much more. He has the biggest heart you can imagine and he uses it to help others.
We have had the honor of visiting with Robert several times and he has also come down to support Anna and our brain tumor fundraising.
Well, friends, this time, we get to help HIM.
Robert has been diagnosed with stage 2-3 colon cancer.
He doesn't know a whole lot yet about what this will entail on treatments, but we do know he's a business owner and sole proprietor, and he will be out of work a minimum of 4-6 weeks. We don't want this to be devastating to him on top of all else he's dealing with.
This time, Robert needs Anna's Army, and although he was reticent about letting me do a fundraiser, he's agreed.
I'm asking you all to please join us in giving to him and sharing his story with your friends, who can also show him just a fragment of the love he has shown Anna, our family, and so many others.
Any amount helps...and the gofundme will stay up for the duration of his recovery so please give more than once if you can.
His surgery is Tuesday March 9 so we are also asking for all your prayers.
Thank you so much,
Melissa, Anna and the whole Mott family
