Cancer update and financial support request:
I recently received wonderful news that the 3 chemos she is on has shrank the tumor in my liver and the fluid around my lung. God is showing up big and prayers are working! I was able to get the chest tube removed and is doing great overall. While chemo is life long, my oncologist is hoping that I soon will be able to stop weekly Taxol chemo and stay on every 3 week Herceptin and Perjeta. It is January though, and all deductibles and out of pocket max limits have started over! Emilee and Caleb are very medically stable and living a full life even with their medical disorders. Caleb was recently in a theater production and Emilee played on the volleyball team for her school with no problems! These are the moments we prayed for! To stay this healthy, we have our monthly insurance premium to pay, weekly chemo, multiple therapy appointments a week for Caleb, and they both have costly medical supplies. Until our out of pocket max is met, we must pay $350 in copays every week, as well as prescription and other specialist appointment cost, and 20% of all medical supplies, scans, etc. Many people ask us how they can help, and sometimes we don’t really know what to tell them. Here is a way that you can help if you are able! Any little bit that you can give adds up and is such a blessing to our family at this time. This is not a journey I ever expected to be on, and I’m incredibly thankful for everyone that has blessed and supported our family. Prayers, financial support, meals, calls to check on us, sweet cards and happy mail, watching the kids, chemo buddies, gift cards that keep me full of coffee, laughing and crying with me, and all the love to our family quite literally has kept me alive for longer than expected. I cannot express how thankful I am that God has placed our community, friends, family, and even strangers to surround us with support. God ALWAYS works the hard times out for good, even when they seem close to impossible! (Venmo) Bryan-Rivera-39
