Organizers Introduction
Hi, my name is Nennette, and my husband and I are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our dear friends Yvonne and her daughter Nevaeh. Our families have been close for years . . . my husband coached Nevaeh in softball and her younger brother in baseball, and our own children played alongside them.
We’ve watched Nevaeh grow up into a remarkable young woman! She's bright, kind, grounded in faith, and determined to make her family proud. Seeing what she and Yvonne are facing now has been heartbreaking, and we want to do all we can to help this wonderful family during such a frightening and uncertain time.
Their Story
What was supposed to be one of the proudest and most exciting times for this family has begun to turn into something no parent ever wants to experience.
Just a few weeks ago, Nevaeh, a bright and determined young woman from Palmdale, California, started her freshman year at UC Davis. She was her high school’s valedictorian, a top graduate who inspired everyone around her with her focus, kindness, and faith.
As any parent knows, sending your child off to college for the first time is both joyful and nerve-racking! You worry, you pray, and you hope they’re safe and thriving. But last week, Yvonne received the call every mother dreads.
Nevaeh collapsed on her way to class and was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room. Doctors discovered that she was suffering from dangerously high blood pressure, severe anemia, kidney failure, and heart failure, all life-threatening conditions that required immediate, intensive care.
Yvonne, a loving single mother of three, dropped everything and drove more than 400 miles from Palmdale to Sacramento to be with her daughter. She has been at the hospital ever since — praying over Nevaeh, offering comfort, and trying to stay strong for her two younger sons back home.
Through it all, Yvonne’s faith in God has remained her anchor. She continues to pray for Nevaeh’s healing and trusts that God will carry their family through this storm. But being away from home and work comes with real financial challenges - unpaid time off, food, lodging, and travel costs all add up quickly.
How You Can Help
We’re asking first and foremost for your prayers for Nevaeh’s complete healing, for Yvonne’s strength, and for peace and security for their family.
If you’re able, please also consider donating to help ease the financial burden so Yvonne can focus fully on caring for her daughter.
Your support will help cover:
Lost income while Yvonne is away from work
Lodging, meals, and travel between Palmdale and Sacramento
Transportation when Nevaeh is well enough to return to her dorm
Essential household needs for Yvonne and her two younger sons
Nevaeh is a fighter, and she’s surrounded by the love and prayers of so many who believe in her strength. Thank you for keeping this family close to your heart and lifting them up in prayer. Every act of kindness — whether a donation, a share, or a prayer — means more than words can say.
