Helping My Dad, Mark, Through His Fight with Lung Cancer

My dad, Mark Chase, has always been the strongest man I know. He’s got that “Papa Bear” presence—protective, steady, and full of love for his wife Kathy and our family. He’s also a man of faith who loves playing bass guitar in the praise band at church and lifting his voice in the choir. If you know him, you know how much he loves Jesus, his family, and friends.

A couple months ago, our world was turned upside down when Dad was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma—lung cancer in both lungs. While the prognosis is hopeful, the road ahead is still long and tough. He begins radiation treatments this Friday on the lower left side, and once that is completed, they will re-evaluate. He will need surgery on the right lung.

This journey has already created a heavy financial burden. Between the mounting medical bills, the cost of gas to and from treatments, and everyday living expenses, it has become more than our family can manage alone.

That’s why I am reaching out with this fundraiser—for anyone who feels led to help ease some of the weight Dad is carrying so he can focus fully on healing.
