Hi,

My name is Kim Malugen and Krista Terrano is my beautiful daughter. Most of you know that Krista was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2023 right when she and Kyle were trying to have a baby. It was a total whirlwind of so many appointments, which led to a double mastectomy, followed by a 12 ½ hour reconstructive surgery just a few weeks later. She was so very brave through it all and openly shared her story in hopes to help others. She rarely complained and always had a positive attitude even through the tears when the pain was unbearable. When she got the thumbs up from her surgeon at her check up in early 2024, they decided to try to have a baby and less than 3 months later she was pregnant (a God wink for sure) and we were all thrilled! Sayla Mae Terrano was born December 2024 joining her 4 precious sisters, Abigail, Merritt, Alison and Kennedy. Their family was complete and the cancer journey was over…..

Fast forward to October 2025 at her check up, they saw some scar tissue and wanted to keep an eye on it. I am sure that was enough to jump start her anxiety and when she felt something last week, she called her NP, who brought her in for tests, MRI, biopsy and the dreaded wait for pathology results.

I cannot imagine how she felt hearing the words, “it’s cancer. “One of the first things she asked for was PRAYERS! She wanted us all to cover her in prayer, because we all believe in the power of prayer! (so add her to all the church prayer lists) As she prepares herself for the last pathology results and anticipation of new doctors and appointments, the last thing she needs to worry about is money.

Krista is ALWAYS helping others, whether its collecting clothes for her community closet, sponsoring families at Christmas, a gift basket for a friend, or simply asking how she can pray for others. She is always giving! It is time we can give back and support her and her family during this difficult time.
