Hi, my name is Arianne, and our family is raising funds for my stepdaughter, Katie.
At just 29 years old, Katie has recently been diagnosed with a very rare, agressive cancer called myeloid sarcoma after discovering a lump only a month ago. Since then, everything has moved quickly—countless tests, appointments, and now a treatment plan that has turned life upside down for her and her family.
Katie and her family currently reside in Ohio, even though she did grow up and graduate from Rice Lake High School in 2014 and has many friends and family back here and considers this her home. She is an incredible wife to her husband, Isaac, and a devoted stay at home mom to their two young children Rya, who is 4, and Caden, who is almost 2. She is the kind of mom who fills her home with laughter, music, and love—always playing, singing, and teaching her children with patience and joy. Her faith in the Lord is at the center of her life, and it is what continues to give her strength and peace as she faces this.
On Monday, April 27, Katie will be admitted to the hospital in Cleveland, Ohio to begin an aggressive 24/7 chemotherapy treatment. She is expected to remain there for 4 to 5 weeks as she fights this battle with everything she has, while being away from her family—a sacrifice that is incredibly heavy on her heart. If all goes well she’ll get to come home and have outpatient chemotherapy for another 5 months. After chemotherapy she will also need a stem cell transplant, through a donor.
During this time, their family will be facing overwhelming challenges—not only emotionally, but financially. We are asking for support to help cover mounting medical bills, long-term treatment costs, lost wages for Isaac as he cares for Katie and their children, and everyday living expenses.
We are asking for continued prayers for strength, healing, and peace. If you are able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean so much to Katie and her family. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping them in your prayers is just as meaningful.
Thank you for taking the time to read Katie’s story and for surrounding this family with love, support, and hope.
