Hi! I’m Karen,47, mom of three. I have been in and out of the hospital for the past few years. I was just discharged few weeks ago due to Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Hypertension and more. Now I was informed by my nephrologist that my kidney function continues to drop and that I am nearing end stage kidney failure. I am having a really tough time. My husband is working so hard to be able to provide for us while I'm unable to work and with ongoing treatment but it’s really a struggle making ends meet. While my doctors search for treatments and cure, our family is also facing significant financial strain. With missed work, missed bills, medical travels to Regina and Saskatoon, gas, meals, and other unexpected expenses, the costs are adding up. We’ve already used up our savings to keep us afloat.
