Dear Friends and Family,

Our family is going through an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time right now.

On Monday morning, around 6:04 a.m., my nephew, Javier Jr., was walking home from work after a night shift when he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident. Thankfully, a witness immediately called 911, and emergency responders arrived within minutes. When they arrived, Javier was unresponsive.

Javier suffered multiple serious injuries, including broken bones in both legs, broken pelvic bones, fractured ribs, a collapsed lung, and swelling of the brain. He was diagnosed with a severe brain injury. He remains unresponsive, and doctors have placed him in an induced coma to give his body the best opportunity to recover and heal.

He is currently in the hospital receiving intensive medical care and fighting for his life. Hearing doctors tell us to prepare for the worst has been devastating, but we are doing our best to remain hopeful and positive. This has been especially heartbreaking for his mother, sisters, and his young son. Seeing our loved one in this condition is something no family should ever have to experience.

As you can imagine, the medical expenses are already adding up quickly, and there will be many additional costs as Javier continues his treatment and recovery. We are humbly asking for your help during this incredibly difficult time.
