My name is Heather Rembold, and I am humbly asking for your prayers and support for a young man who has been like a son to me for more than 18 years. John Hartley “Jack” Brock has been in my life since he was two years old. I’ve watched him grow from a bright, energetic little boy into a compassionate, faith-filled young man—one whose character has always far exceeded his years. Today, Jack remains in the ICU after a sudden and severe lung infection placed him on a ventilator for several days. His family is facing an unimaginable emotional and financial burden, and they need our help.

Jack is loyal. He is the truest kind of friend—the one who instinctively puts his arm around someone who is hurting, who offers encouragement without being asked, who sees people deeply. I have watched him lift up teammates after a tough race, support friends through difficult seasons, and love his family with unwavering devotion. Jack has always taken the time to care for others; now, we are called to care for him.

Jack is reverent. His Catholic faith is the center of who he is. He has been an altar server since he could first carry a cross and served as Co-Chaplain on the student leadership team at John Paul II Catholic School. His Eagle Scout project—building the Stations of the Cross for our school’s campus—stands as a physical reminder of his love for God and community. Jack’s faith has always been his compass; today, we pray that same faith surrounds him with strength and healing.

Jack is cheerful. Even as a teenager, Jack had a rare joy about him—an ability to brighten a room just by being in it. His positive spirit, his love for others, and his genuine kindness have made him beloved by classmates, teachers, coaches, and countless people in our community.

As his family stays by his bedside in the ICU, medical bills and related expenses are quickly mounting. No parent should have to worry about finances while their child is fighting to recover. This GoFundMe has been created to help relieve that burden—so his parents can focus solely on Jack and his recovery.
