Hello Everyone:)

My name is Rachael, this is for my sweet mother-in-law, Irene (Bertha) Cude. A lot of you know she has been enduring some pretty significant health issues as of late, Resulting in her spending about 26 weeks out of the year in the hospital. They recently have gotten considerably worse. She has cirrhosis of the liver from years of damaging steroids and antibiotics she has had to take for her autoimmune and Crohn’s disease. They have placed her on a (cadaver) liver transplant list and we are patiently waiting for that. That will be taking place at UK. She’s undergone testing and will continue some more testing at UK for now and may have to travel back and forth until a liver comes available. While we wait for an available liver, she has some other medical concerns being addressed at Cabell Huntington hospital. All that to say, while she is unable to work consistently, There are going to be some living costs, traveling expenses and medical things that will weigh on them even if they won’t disclose that to me. Im hopeful this will ease that immediate burden but also during recovery if she were to receive her liver.

Thank you guys so much in advance for anything you are able to give. If you know Irene, you know that she would feed you her last meal and has done so much for the people she loves but also for strangers she has come across. Please keep her in your prayers and for the doctors who are caring for her also. We love her so much and just want healing!
