Last Friday the 13th, my little sister Isabella Phillips, Hannah Hillegas, and my father Kurt Phillips were involved in a serious accident at the intersection of Keough Rd and Hwy 196—just 30 minutes after Isabella received her driver’s permit. What should have been a proud milestone quickly turned tragic when their vehicle was struck by an oncoming 18-wheeler after proceeding onto hwy 196 from the stop sign at keough rd
By the grace of God, Isabella walked away with only minor cuts and bruises. We are beyond grateful.
Hannah suffered devastating, life-threatening injuries. First responders had to remove the rear passenger door to free her before she was airlifted by medical helicopter to the hospital. She sustained a severe level 3 traumatic brain injury with multiple brain bleeds, including injury to her brain stem, significant swelling, multiple spinal fractures from T4 through her sacrum, a pancreatic injury, a broken arm and elbow, and other serious trauma. She remains in critical condition in the ICU under constant care.
Hannah is a mother of three. Two of her daughters, Hadlie and Jolee, already lost their father to cancer in 2021. They are now facing another unimaginable hardship and need stability and support more than ever.
If you would like more information or to visit Hannah, please contact Trip Fountain through Facebook Messenger.
This has shaken our family deeply. We ask for continued prayers for Hannah’s healing. If you feel led to help with medical expenses and supporting her children during the long road ahead, All donations will go to Hannah’s mother, Renee, who is caring for Hannah and the girls.
