Funeral expenses for Dave Perna

My dad, Dave Perna, went to Mercy hospital on feb 7th with influenza a after he collapsed at work & they had to take him by ambulance. Upon arriving, they found pneumonia in his lungs. He had to be sedated & put on a ventilator because he couldn’t breathe. It’s been a roller coaster of a week for everyone. After a week & couple days of being fully sedated & on the ventilator they started to wean him off on Saturday/Sunday (2/16).

We found out he had 5 mini strokes throughout the last week. Upon waking up we’ve had some good news & improvements, followed by some bad news & back sliding. As of today (2/16) my dad has a bad lung infection again & is back to needing 100% oxygen. They decided to fully sedate him again so the antibiotics can help heal him.

Amongst all this, Jennifer has been left to still carry on as normal as she can. As we all know, the bills & daily duties are still there even in emergencies. Now, without my dad’s help.

We don’t know what the forseeable future holds. All we can do today is keep praying my dad makes a full recovery.

I am asking for help to take some of the stress off of Jennifer, camden & Carly. Anything you can do to help, is so appreciated. Even if that just means an extra prayer for my dad, Jen, camden, Carly & myself.

I will continue updating as we know more.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the amount of support everyone has shown both on this go fund me, at the hospital, the prayers & everyone whose been reaching out. We are all very appreciative. We surpassed the original $3000 goal in 7 hours. Now we've almost hit the $5000 goal. I am going to up the goal, again. As you can imagine there are going to be a ton of medical bills associated with his hospital stay. My hope is that my dad can focus on recovering & getting well again when he wakes up rather than having to worry about medical, bills, etc. & getting back to work right away.
