On Thanksgiving morning, Danny Salcido went into cardiac arrest while preparing for a bike ride. His friends and others nearby reported that they intervened as quickly as possible and began chest compressions; Danny was then transferred to Scripps Mercy where he’s been in ICU since 11/27. Despite being fully sedated, Danny has been experiencing seizures and myoclonic movements during his entire stay, and is absent of reflexes. Danny’s medical team has completed every test and intervention available, but unfortunately have given an extremely poor prognosis given his current state and symptoms. Danny is scheduled for a compassionate extubation on Sunday 12/7.

We know that Danny’s outcome will ultimately be determined by God and what his plans are for Danny’s life. This GoFund Me is being created upon request from his loved ones who have inquired how they can support during this time, and will be used to help cover anticipated medical expenses. In the event that Danny takes his last breath after his extubation, the funds will shift to cover the costs of his services that will honor his life in the way he deserves. Funds will also help support his family and cover expenses that have already accrued during the duration of his stay.
