Fundraiser Campaign for Danielle

To my prayer warriors: if you can’t do anything else, you can always pray.

My dear friend Danielle — the woman who helped me raise my child as a stepmother — has been one of the strongest, most constant presences in my life. Time and again, I’ve watched life knock her down, and time and again, I’ve watched her rise from the ashes with strength and grace.

I’ve seen her carry on her son’s legacy, turning her deepest grief into a source of encouragement for other mothers who have lost children. I’ve seen her rally, fight, struggle, and overcome — and through it all, her heart has never changed. I’ve seen her find the man of her dreams, become a grandmother, and continue honoring and lifting others even in her hardest moments.

But at a season in her life when her prayers were finally being answered, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with colon cancer.

Danielle is a fighter. She doesn’t like to miss work, she doesn’t like to let people down — but chemotherapy has forced her to. I’ve watched her endure excruciating pain, neuropathy, and thrush. Her biggest concern is not herself, but that she can’t do enough for her family and her children during this time.

She needs our constant prayers — and she also needs to know that her Christian family, friends, and community will step in to help cover the financial gap while she focuses on healing.

Our goal is to raise $25,000, and that begins with small donations. For those who know Danielle, you know that money is just a tool. It can’t buy health, and it can’t stop suffering — but it can keep the lights on, keep food on the table, and ease the crushing financial stress that comes with a cancer diagnosis. The truth is, we are all one illness away from financial hardship.

My hope is that if any of us ever find ourselves in this situation, those we’ve loved and invested in will come alongside us, carrying part of the burden. That’s what I’m asking for Danielle now.
