Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time, and we’re reaching out for help for my aunt, Cora.
Cora travelled to Canada to visit family, bringing with her the same warmth, generosity, and faith that she has always shared with everyone around her. What was meant to be a meaningful visit turned into a life-altering tragedy when she was involved in a serious car accident that left her with a severe spinal injury.
Cora has always been a strong, active, and selfless person. As a retired midwife, she dedicated her life to caring for others and helping bring new life into the world. Even in retirement, she stayed busy—cooking for her family, helping with daily chores, and living an active lifestyle. She is someone who is always giving, always putting others before herself.
Her Catholic faith is at the center of who she is. It guides her strength, her compassion, and the way she cares for others. Even now, she continues to hold onto that faith as she faces this incredibly difficult journey.
Today, she is facing a long and uncertain road to recovery in Canada, far from her home in the Philippines. Her husband, children, and grandchildren are all back home, unable to be by her side during this critical time, which makes this situation even more heartbreaking.
As a visitor, Cora does not have access to full healthcare coverage in Canada, and the cost of her medical care is overwhelming. Hospital stays, treatments, rehabilitation, specialized equipment, and eventual travel arrangements back home are adding up quickly.
Despite everything, Cora remains strong and continues to fight every day, holding onto hope and faith. But she cannot do this alone.
We are humbly asking for your help. Any donation, regardless of the amount, will be directed directly toward her medical expenses and recovery. If you’re unable to contribute, sharing this page would mean a lot to us.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for helping Cora through this incredibly challenging journey.
