December 25, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. was the day and time that the Hudgens Family will sadly be forever changed. On this day, much like every day, Caleb, a single dad of an angelic one-year old daughter and precious two-year old son was dressing his daughter to prepare to open gifts while his son was playing in the living room. The next moment time froze when he heard the sound of a gun shot blasting through their home. A horrible accident had just occurred that no one ever wants to experience. Unfortunately, he had left his firearm unattended in his bedroom. His precious son had wandered into that bedroom and the gun went off striking him above his left eye. It is only by God’s Hands, His Miracles and His Grace that this child is alive. He survived the accident, he survived surgery and remains in critical condition but stable. After many days, weeks, and months of constant harassing and threatening phone calls Caleb began keeping the weapon in close proximity in order to protect his family, never knowing if the person making the threats would actually follow through. There had already been one unsuccessful attempt to run him over with a vehicle in a local parking lot. At that moment in time, on December 25, in his attempt to protect his family he ultimately harmed his child in this devastating incident. There are no words to describe what he is going through….the shock, the guilt, the devastation, the emotional roller coaster; no parent ever wants to experience such a thing. He has remained in the hospital with or very close by to his son ever since this happened. Needless to say, the financial responsibilities are mounting. It is unclear at this time when he will be able to return to work, never wanting to leave his son’s side. There is a tremendous financial need at this time.
