Prayers and support for Brian Kinnerson
Donation protected
Hello family, friends, and other caring people, my name is Lori and I am fundraising for my brother and parents. First and fore most we desire your prayers. Around July 2021 Brian’s doctor during routine blood work for his diabetes found that his platelets were half what they should be. He was referred to a hematologist that diagnosed him with MDS which is Myelodysplastic syndrome. In short, his bone marrow produces immature cells that crowd out his good ones. This blood cancer causes low platelets, low red blood cells, and low white blood cells. The doctors have been treating him with oral meds for infections and platelets and shots to increase his white blood count. After months of this without much improvement the doctors have decided to move forward with 4 months of chemo and then bone marrow transplant around March 2022. He received his port in November to begin his chemo. He is currently on his 2nd month of chemo and is doing well. I have been tested for donation. I am a 50% match with no 100% donor from the bone marrow registry. I still have some tests and a consultation before hopefully being approved. He also has some dental work to be done before the donation procedure. When he gets a transplant date he will be going on temporary disability from his job at Walmart and he will only draw a percentage of his current wages.
Your donations will cover medical, dental, recovery, bills, and other expenses
to come.
