During the summer of 2025, Brandi and Matthew shared with incredible joy that they were growing their family by one more and expecting their second child, a baby boy. Then, out of nowhere, on August 30th 2025, Brandi had her first seizure.

She was rushed to the emergency room and an MRI revealed that she had a tumor on the right temporal lobe of her brain. Her neurosurgeon believes it is a slow-growing grade 2 glioma, but we will not know if it is benign or not until the biopsy is completed. This will take place at the same time as the planned surgery to remove as much of the mass as possible. By God’s grace and guidance from her medical team, Brandi was given the gift of time to deliver her baby safely before worrying about the surgery.

Baby Bennett joined their family at home on January 10th. Things are now moving quickly to get Brandi the help she needs to get rid of these seizures for good. She is officially scheduled for her surgery and will have a long road of recovery ahead of her.

Where most would crumble, Brandi has instead found immense comfort in both her faith and her family. The love that she has for God and her children is her driving force to continue to fight.
