We want to take a moment to share the story of a special student from Skyline High School who is deeply connected to all of us through our community.

Bella Avans is a 16-year-old student from Skyline High School. On November 23, 2025, Bella’s life—and the lives of everyone who loves her—changed in an instant when she was involved in a devastating car accident.

Since that day, Bella has been fighting the hardest battle of her life. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and has already endured six surgeries. She is currently in a coma, and her family is waiting, praying every day for the moment she wakes up. Bella has a long and challenging road ahead.

Bella is the daughter of Kaleb and Kami Wright and the late Matt Avans. She is a beloved daughter, a friend, a student, and a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. Right now, her family is carrying an unimaginable emotional and financial burden—one no family should have to face alone.

We want to remind the Avans and Wright families that they are not alone so when tragedy strikes, communities come together. Every donation given—no matter the size—helps ease the stress of medical expenses, travel costs, and rehabilitation. And just as importantly, it sends a powerful message of love, support, and hope.

The family has asked for one thing above all else: prayers. Prayers for Bella to wake up. Prayers for strength, healing, and peace. Prayers for the days ahead, which will not be easy—but which will be faced with faith and courage.
