My name is Taylor. On January 18, my water ruptured (26 weeks and 6 days), and I was admitted to the hospital to prevent going into labor. I was there for 11 days (28 weeks and 3 days) when I told my nurse I was feeling pain. They checked me and noticed the umbilical cord had prolapsed, resulting in an emergency C-section. My baby girl was delivered weighing only 2 pounds 15 ounces. She was instantly taken to the NICU, and I was unable to see her for 24 hours due to me having an infection called chorioamnionitis, which caused me to have a fever.
It’s been a little over a month since my daughter has been in the NICU, and we live an hour and a half away from the hospital. I pump every day, every 3 hours, and take my breast milk to the hospital every other day. Although I have gotten help from generous people, funds are low as I lost my job and don’t have the availability to work right now until my daughter is healthy enough to be home or until I find a sitter when she is home. Her father works 12-hour days and makes sure the house is taken care of, but it’s a lot of financial stress right now. Anything helps. It really does. Keep praying Miss Vayda will be home soon
