Help Baby Simon Fight for His Life

November 28, 2025
Rebecca and Vlad went in for a routine ultrasound and found out they were having a baby boy. Everything looked perfect—Baby Simon was healthy, growing well, and there were no complications. They left the appointment full of excitement and joy as they prepared to start their family together.

December 4, 2025
Late that night, Rebecca noticed concerning signs of bleeding. They went straight to the hospital, where she was immediately admitted. Doctors diagnosed her with an incompetent cervix and informed her she was already dilated to 4 cm at only 22 weeks pregnant. This condition causes the cervix to weaken and open too early in pregnancy, often without pain or warning, putting the baby at extreme risk. Rebecca was told she would need to remain hospitalized until Baby Simon was born due to the high-risk situation.

December 6, 2025
Doctors determined it was critical for Rebecca to receive IV medications to help grow Baby Simon’s lungs and attempt to stop labor.

December 7, 2025
Hospital monitors began picking up contractions. Rebecca was too unstable to be transferred for emergency cervical surgery. With her cervix already dilated and Simon in a breech position, doctors began preparing for the possibility of an emergency C-section. Specialists at Froedtert recommended additional treatments and precautions in hopes of keeping Simon inside as long as possible.

December 8–9, 2025
After reaching out to friends, family, and churches for prayer, Simon held on. He remained stable and even flipped positions again—an incredible answer to prayer. These days brought cautious hope.

December 10–12, 2025
The days that followed were an emotional roller coaster. Simon would remain stable for a time, then new concerns would arise. Each day was filled with the question of whether he would make it, yet God continued to sustain him.

December 13, 2025
Rebecca began experiencing contractions again. Although they were not close together, she was placed on continuous 24/7 monitoring to keep a close watch on both her and Simon.

December 15, 2025
Early that morning, Rebecca went to the restroom and noticed blood in her urine. Vlad was preparing to leave for work, but Rebecca told him, “I think you need to wait.”
At 6:15 a.m., the nurse was called.
At 6:45 a.m., the doctor arrived.
By 7:00 a.m., Rebecca was being prepped for emergency surgery. Simon was breech, positioned up to his nipples. By the grace of God, he was still alive.
At 7:25 a.m., Baby Simon was born weighing just 1 pound, 13 ounces.
Vlad shared that they experienced many God moments during this time, but one he will never forget was hearing that Simon was alive while a cleaning lady in the waiting room was playing “Unsung Hero” by For King & Country.
Doctors say Simon is a fighter and that he is doing very well. The next 24 hours are the most critical. He currently has all necessary tubes and medical support in place.
We are asking for continued prayers—that Simon’s organs continue to develop, that he grows stronger with every breath, and that God’s healing hands remain over him.
Vlad, Rebecca, and Baby Simon have a very long journey ahead in the hospital.
We are also asking for help to support Simon’s ongoing medical care, travel expenses, and the time his parents must take off work to be by his side. Any contribution—no matter the size—means more than words can express.
Please continue to keep Baby Simon in your prayers as he fights for his life.
