Love, Support, and Prayers for Baby Sadie -

We are reaching out to our community to help support the Johnson family. Our hearts have been turned upside down as baby Sadie, now 3 months old, has been diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare and serious liver disease that affects infants. Since birth, Sadie has already endured multiple hospital stays (including a major surgery to attach her small intestine to create a drain for the bile), costly medications, and procedures that no child should ever have to face. Biliary atresia causes damage to the bile ducts and liver, and without additional treatment, will lead to liver failure.

Although Sadie underwent surgery (Kasai procedure) with the intention to prolong the need for a liver transplant, it was determined that she will need a transplant in the very near future and she has been officially put on the transplant list.

If you know Sadie's parents, Chase & Mariah Johnson, you know that Sadie is their world, and all of their focus is on her health. Mariah, a police officer with Gaston County Police, had planned to immediately return to work after maternity leave, but with Sadie's medical diagnosis, she currently needs to be with Sadie around the clock. Chase, thankfully, is able. to work, but is taking time off often to be with Mariah and Sadie at doctors' appointments and hospital stays.

Between ongoing medical expenses, travel to specialists, hospital stays, and the potential of a temporary relocation to Philadelphia for the transplant, the financial burden continues to grow.

Every donation - no matter the amount - will go directly toward:

- Medical bills, insurance premiums, hospital stays, and transplant-related expenses

- Medications

- Travel and lodging for hospital stays

- Lost income

- Everyday expenses so Chase & Mariah can focus fully on Sadie
