Hey everyone, my name is Haley Shackelford. I’m hoping to raise money for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law as they are facing an unexpected challenge right now. Their daughter, Magnolia Lou Shackelford, was born on 12/10/25 weighing 6 pounds 5 ounces! Since then, they have been to three different hospitals and are now at a hospital in New Orleans. When Magnolia was born, she had a cleft palate and Pierre Robin sequence (PRS). She currently has to have an oxygen machine and a feeding tube. As of now, they are going to watch and see how her chin grows for a couple of days to see if she will need surgery or not. Right now, they are trying something similar to a retainer she can wear to keep her tongue forward. If that doesn’t work, then surgery will more than likely be the next step. With the surgery, her jaw will need to be cut and slowly pushed forward with metal plates. Healing time would be around 4-8 weeks. More than likely, their family will be spending Christmas and New Year's at the hospital unless she starts being able to handle being on her back and eating well. We are praying surgery will not be needed. The last thing they should have to worry about is money. I know it is Christmas time and money is tight for everyone, but any little bit helps. $0.01 to $100 will be a tremendous help.
