Prayers and Support for Baby Isaac's Healing

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him” Psalm 127:3. As we all know each child is a gift from the Lord. They are his children we are raising for him and his kingdom.

As most of you know my husband Michael and I have 2 wonderful and beautiful sons; aged 1 & 2. When we found out we were having another boy we were super excited and started praying asking God what his name was to be. God told us to name his Isaac.

Isaac was born at 37 weeks. When I went into labor I tracked contractions at home and decided it was time to go to the hospital. We were admitted around 3am as dilation was 5cm with stronger more frequent contractions. Once admitted I was 7cm and was ready to have my water broken. When they broke my water they noticed the meconium (poop) in the amniotic fluid. When he was delivered we like to say he came out with a splash. He was delivered and the rest of the amniotic fluid came with him, which caused him to inhale that fluid and meconium.

After delivery, at first, everything seemed fine, and we were overjoyed to meet our baby boy Isaac. We are incredibly thankful that a dedicated nurse in the room noticed something wasn’t right- Isaac was grunting, a sign that he was struggling to breathe. Because of her quick attention, the medical team was able to act immediately.

From inhaling the fluid and meconium it caused serious breathing difficulties. He was taken to the NICU, where doctors discovered that he was not producing enough surfactant, a substance his lungs need to stay open and function properly. His lungs were severely damaged, and his condition required a higher level of care.

Due to the severity of his situation, Isaac was flown to Advent Health Orlando for more intensive treatment. This had been an overwhelming and frightening journey for our family, filed with uncertainty and countless prayers.

We are sharing our story to ask for help during this incredibly difficult time. The medical expenses, travel, time away from work have added up quickly, and any support, whether through donations or prayers, means more to us than words can express.

Thank you for reading Isaac’s story (as it has been God’s story) and for standing with our family as we fight alongside him.
