When the unexpected happens, the prayers and support of family and friends can make a world of difference. We're raising funds for Cody and Sarah Hudspeth to use however they see fit (possibly to put toward medical bills, gas, food, living expenses, etc.).

Cody (a youth pastor in Missouri) and his wife, Sarah, have served God faithfully in ministry for many years and are currently going through an intense, difficult time after the birth of their precious baby boy.

In Sarah's words:

Baby Elias Jacob Hudspeth was born this evening, 10/22/2025, weighing 8lbs, 10oz - our biggest child yet. Unfortunately, there were complications. When he came out he was not breathing and they couldn’t find a heartbeat. They worked on him and they were able to successfully resuscitate him. His vitals are stable, and he’s starting to breathe better. However, he’s still not awake/responsive. He is being transferred to Overland Park Regional. They’re placing him on a cooling pad for 3 days to help his brain heal. After that, they’ll gradually warm him up and monitor how his body responds. The main concern right now is whether there will be any long-term neurological effects from the period he was without oxygen. We were recently updated that he has had a couple of seizures and they're treating that before they fly him to OPR. Please pray for our baby boy that the seizures go away, that there are no long-term neurological effects and for the care team to treat him the best they can. He is stable but critical.

Update on Elias: we still don't have any answers but they took him for an MRI earlier this evening. He did well, got a little too cold on the journey to MRI so they had to warm him back up (they're doing a cooling method of slowing his body and letting his brain heal). There are several tests that were done today that will give us more answers. He showed progress in some areas but I don't remember where exactly. I do know that our biggest prayer now is that there is brain activity. I am praying we get some hopeful news tonight.
