My sister has been going from doctor to doctor trying to figure out what’s going on with my niece, her almost 3 year-old daughter, Andi. She keeps running a fever they can’t get to go down and running a lot of tests to try to figure out what’s going on with her. They did a treatment for Kawasaki disease, but it failed and will attempt again today. If it is not successful they will be back to the drawing board with figuring out what is going on. With days in the hospital and who knows how many more I know the medical bills have to be stacking up. Please continue to pray for them and for Andi’s healing. We will also be starting a dessert auction as well if that is something you would like to donate to. We appreciate everyone who can help them out on this journey.
Update from my sister:
“I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered”
We are headed home as of Monday @ 4:50 pm after 6 days @ unc. They ended up monitoring her for 24 more hrs and decided against another IVIG treatment for Kawasaki disease. After drawing more labs this morning they are confident the treatment did its job and she should fully recover with no heart damage. We have quite a bit of follow up appts in the following weeks with chapel hill cardiology, gastro, and specialist. She will remain on aspirin daily for preventative care until cardiology releases. This has been one of the scariest things I’ve ever been thru. And will continue to be alittle worrisome until we know for sure she is completely out of the woods. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, checked in, sent money or are helping raise money for us during this unexpected event. Thanks to my family who helped with Tatum along with still coming up to be with me and Andi as needed. Please don’t stop praying for her in the following weeks as we continue watching her closely but at least we will be home
