Hello family, friends, and all.
Here's the most recent update as of October 14, 2025.
Lilia is finally back home! She was discharged from the skilled nursing facility on 10/10/2025. We're steadily adjusting to home life—especially the every two hour medication schedule. Lemongrass tea has been extremely beneficial. If you have any lemongrass plants, please freeze into small bushes and kindly give it to us!
Lilia's schedule is filled with appointments from radiation oncology (Clarksville and at Vanderbilt), oncology (St. Thomas West Nashville), neurosurgery (St. Thomas West Nashville), home health visits, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. The radiation, chemo, and immunotherapy scheduling creates a very busy rotation. This past month has gone by so fast with the hospital stay, surgery, and rehabilitation at the skilled nursing facility. With that said, April is returning to Japan tomorrow October 15, 2025 after helping out with everything the last month. She will return later, but for short visits only. Thankfully, Gerald will continue to stay and take over! Lilia still has the amazing help and support of her children!
If you are able to come to the house to offer family relief (i.e. sleep, run errands, laundry rest, etc.) it would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated. Any amount you can spare is fine! From a stop by of just a couple of minutes, to a couple of hours, or even spending the night! We have accommodations for guests to spend the night! Please don't have any worries as there is information and resources posted all around the house from the every two hour medication schedules, contact numbers listed, as well as a medical binder filled with paperwork of everything that's happened so far. We also have CCTV and are enrolled in the Medical Guardian medical response system for emergencies.
Please contact Gerald through Facebook Messenger to arrange when to come to the house. Feel free to message Lilia, but please understand that her phone is on silent. It's also okay to continue messaging April, however the time difference may cause a delay in her response.
Please continue to pray for Lilia's health and she will continue to pray for the world.
Lastly, any donations would be appreciated but we would prefer volunteers/visits to the home and cooked meals the most!!!

Lilia has been discharged from St.Thomas West Hospital on 10/02/2025. She is going to a skilled nursing rehabilitation facility in the Sango area in Clarksville.
Visits to the facility are welcome! Especially for everyone who couldn't make the commute to Nashville! We ask to PLEASE coordinate visits with family and friends about schedules so Lilia will have time to rest and do physical therapy in between.
She will stay at the facility for some time. The plan is for her to regain some of her strength and independence with physical therapy, heal her incision from the surgery, radiation, then medicinal therapy. The samples from the biopsy are still being processed to figure out which medicinal therapy will be optimal. We still have a journey ahead of us so, please continue the prayers! We are so thankful for everyone!

Lilia has been admitted to St. Thomas's oncology unit as of 9/22/2025.
The treatment plan at this time is:
- Pain management
- CT, MRI, BIOPSY
- Labs
Please read below for previous information of the situation.
The HOUSE VISIT calendar will still be available to the public, however she will remain inpatient at St. Thomas until further notice.
Thank you very much for your prayers and support!

Lilia has recently been diagnosed with bone cancer. We are asking for prayers for health, for safety, and for pain management. She is in severe pain and any change in position is a very challenging task. She is a very high fall risk and doing simple activities of daily living requires total dependence. Please provide emotional and spiritual support because that has been her greatest comfort. The involved services at this time include her primary care provider, oncology, home health nursing, social work, and occupational therapy.
We appreciate the desire to buy goods, but instead of buying foods/flowers/cards/misc. items, we ask for donations in lieu of those spendings to go towards copays in medical expenses.
Her daughter April has come from Japan and is staying at Lilia's bedside for one month. April will return to Japan on October 15, 2025. Volunteers for visits to the home are welcome any day of the week at any time. Lilia's husband continues work. He commutes near the Nashville area daily and the work/commute hours are late. We would greatly appreciate if you're visiting to come between 1200 PM to 1200 AM because Lilia cannot leave bed and requires complete assistance. If you are able to provide company at Lilia's bedside after April leaves, that would provide the family with relief and peace. The visit can be as short as a couple of minutes, to a couple hours, to spending the night.

While home health is a great help, their care is only intermittent and not constant. Lilia responds well to therapeutic touch and the presence of someone being there. At this time, she is only taking Tylenol and Tramadol for pain management. When her spasms occur, light massages help distract from the severe pain. As of 9/19, the medications have been adjusted to a higher dose and she is able to sleep and catch up on rest. An oncology appointment is scheduled for 9/22 to further discuss the treatment options. Lilia remains to have high spirit and positive energy, but her biggest wish is to not suffer and be in pain.
Feel free to share on social media. We will update this frequently as her status changes, so please read for the most up to date information. Thank you very much for your support.
