My name is Jessica and on 1/17 we rescued our sweet Moose who is a 14 week old Golden retriever/aussie. We had him for 4 days before we took him into our local vet for concerns of kennel cough. Antibiotics were given and his puppy energy returned within 24 hours. 5 days later Moose woke up lethargic, would not eat, or drink. We took him immediately to our vet where they ran X-rays and sent him for emergency care at OVRS. 48 hours into his treatment there we got the dreaded news that he was very positive for parvo. We are committed to Moose and in the short time he has been with us has made a lasting impact on our whole family. We cannot turn our back on this little guy. Moose is in pretty rough shape in critical care at OVRS. They have given him a plasma transfusion and most recently had to put a central line in. With that being said, his amazing medical team is very hopeful he will make a full recovery and live a long happy life without complications. With all of the care Moose is receiving his bill continues to rise. Our latest estimate is a little over $12,000. Our family has already received so much generosity and support throughout this whole process. God has brought Moose to our family, and despite the situation, we have seen His hand in all of it. We have seen so many prayers answered and miracles take place that has left us speechless. Our kids have had a front row seat in witnessing Gods heart and love for us. We are in the middle of our storm, but God has carried us through every step of the way. Please pray for Moose’s miraculous recovery and peace beyond understanding as we go through this journey.
