Prayers and Aid for the Nash Family's NICU Journey

UPDATE
We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support shown to Coach Nash and his family. Thanks to your generosity, we are approaching the original goal of $10,000 much faster than expected! After speaking with the family and looking more closely at the long-term medical needs ahead, I have decided to raise the goal to $12,000 so that people who still feel led to give can continue to support them.

The reality is that NICU care for micro-preemies is not only emotionally exhausting — it is financially overwhelming. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs, ongoing treatments, follow-up appointments, and potential long-term care needs can extend far beyond the initial hospital stay. Increasing the goal simply reflects the very real and ongoing needs this family will face in the months ahead.

I want to be completely transparent: this isn’t about “pushing for more.” It’s about giving people the opportunity to continue blessing a family that is walking through an incredibly difficult season. Every prayer, every share, and every donation *, no matter the amount* makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for standing with the Nash family. Your kindness is helping carry them through one of the hardest chapters of their lives!

I have created this Go Fund me for Coach Kevin Nash and his family. He and his wife welcomed their beautiful twins in October, at only 24 weeks, weighing less than 5 pounds. Although it is not uncommon for twins to be born early, these two are considered extremely preterm or micro-preemie.

I met Coach Nash when my son joined the high school basketball team and his wife through my church family. We prayed over her pregnancy as she faced challenges and premature labor. When I heard she and the babies all survived the labor, I knew God answered our prayers for a miracle! However, I also understood they would be facing a tough road ahead with two newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The average cost per day for a micro-preemie in the NICU is $7000-$9000 a day and length of stay is dependent on their progress. That's an average for one, so multiple that by two! Micro-preemies also deal with underdevelopment at birth that can result in extended stays and long-term health complications. The Nash twins are no different and even though the family has health insurance, the out-of-pocket costs can still be significant.

Having a newborn in the NICU can be overwhelming both emotionally and financially. Parents face a daily emotional roller coaster with an ending that is unknown. We can't really help them with that (except through prayer), but we can help relieve some of the financial stress they are facing.

I know we are all facing financial burdens right now, so I am first asking that you please keep the Nash family in prayer. I truly believe there is power in prayer! Secondly, if you’re in a position to give, even a small amount helps! Finally, please feel free to share this with anyone you think might also be willing to pray and/or help the Nash family. Your support in any form is greatly appreciated!
