It has been a little over a year since life changed completely for the Prieto family of three (at that time).

Whitney and Sergio ask for your prayers.  Those of us that love them ask for your prayerful support.  We all know that life can be overwhelming at times, but this beautiful family has a lot on their plate and a long journey ahead of them.  With so many changes in their lives right now, we are looking for ways to help lighten their load and ease their minds in any way possible.   They have much more important things to focus on!  Thank you in advance for your love for the Prietos and any form of support you can provide - prayer, monetary, a meal, or an encouraging note to name a few.  We look forward  to seeing God work in and through Sergio, Whitney, Isaiah, Elijah and Noah!

Below is a brief summary of a long and exhausting  but rewarding journey that the Prieto's have been on over the past year.  Whitney is an inspiration to many and has shared more of their story on her caringbridge site - https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/whitneyprieto/journal

Over the course of a lengthy fertility journey, their first miracle, Isaiah was born August 12, 2015.  Then on September 12th, 2017 they received the amazing news that their "last chance" transfer was a success and that they were pregnant!   September 18th, Whitney got the phone call - her results came back positive.  She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Stage 2B Breast Cancer.   September 25th at the 7 week scan, Whitney immediately saw the two sacs.  Two babies! TWINS! :)

Surgery, chemo and radiation followed as well as many tough decisions and conversations but through it all, Whitney's faith and trust in the Lord have grown stronger and her outlook stays positive - a few quotes from Whitney follow:

"I am so thankful that He has used cancer to bring me closer to Him, to allow me to refocus my life and to really be able to discern what my priorities are.   He has truly done a work in my life with this diagnosis and I will never be the same.  I know He has allowed this cancer to come into my body to not only change me but for me to share the good news that life doesn't have to be hopeless.  There is hope in the Lord.  There is peace in His presence.  His mercy, grace and love are unfailing.  So yes, God does give you more than you can handle, but if you turn to Him, He will see you through your circumstance."

"I can choose to be down and out or I can choose to fight away those negative emotions, embrace the journey I am on and continue to edge forward towards the finish line.  I choose to finish this race.  I choose to win this war against breast cancer.  I choose to fight for Sergio, Isaiah and our two little miracles that are growing inside me.  There is so much to live for and I refuse to let cancer take that from me."

On April 14th, 2018, the newest Prieto miracles, Elijah and Noah, were welcomed into the world after surviving surgery, biopsies, countless imaging and 13 rounds of chemo!  They are adorable and perfect and so blessed!

Isaiah is now 3, Elijah and Noah are 6 months old and they continue to bring joy every moment.  God Is Good!  Some new concerning spots have appeared in recent scans so the journey continues.  Whitney has reconstructive surgery this week so that she can have further scans and determine next steps.

A closing quote from Whitney - "We have so much to be thankful for.  I have so much to be thankful for.  If cancer has a good side, it's that it gives you a different perspective on life.  An appreciation for the little things.  Life is precious.  Don't let it pass you by."

Thank you again for your love and support and for helping us provide some peace of mind in the Prieto's future!
