Pray for Lina!!
Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for your prayers and support.
Many of you know that I’m living in the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and I’ve recently been accepted into a master’s program starting this August—something I’ve dreamed of and worked so hard to achieve.
But I’ve hit a roadblock. Because the Haitian embassy is closed, I can’t renew my student visa in my home country. I’m trying to do it in The Bahamas, but that may require an in-person interview. Since I’m on TPS, I would need to apply for a travel document that costs $630 and could take months to process—which might mean I miss the start of my program, and possible deportation.
In addition to the $630 fee, there are multiple other fees that would have to be paid to go to The Bahamas on top of all the travel expenses. I’ve already spent over $1000 on necessary form fees.
I’ve contacted the U.S. Embassy in Nassau and explained my situation, hoping they’ll grant me an interview waiver so I can move forward without delays.
Additionally, the cost of the Master’s program I have been accepted into is $10,000 for International students.
Please keep me in your prayers—for favor, for open doors, and for everything to fall into place so I can begin this next chapter.
Thank you for standing with me.
With love,
Lina
