On Sunday, January 18, 2015, after experiencing months of stomach pain, discomfort, and several unsuccessful treatments, Duane and Stephanie Miller took their son, Logan (age 4), to Akron Children's Hospital hoping to get some answers. The hospital staff performed an ultrasound and discovered a tumor in Logan's liver.
They immediately ordered a test the following day to determine weather the tumor was cancerous. The results came back positive for cancer. Instead of being in his liver like they originally thought, it was actually on the outside of his liver making it almost impossible to surgically remove the cancer.
Logan's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Following his surgery, the hospital staff will discuss plans for ongoing chemotherapy. The hospital staff remains optimistic that Logan's cancer is curable.
This GoFundMe.com page has been setup to help offset the costs the family will have associated with Logan's surgery and ongoing treatment.
