Prayers for Jen Vercammen
Donation protected
Hello everyone ,
If you haven't met Jen Vercammen yet , you need too! She is full of life, joy and spunk! Jen has 5 boys and 3 have congenital heart defects and need ongoing care. Between the 3 boys they have had 7 open heart surgeries and multiple heart cath/procedures. Carter alone sees 8 specialist for varies issues also from being very premature. Jacob will eventually need a heart transplant for his heart disease. While Jen already has a lot on her plate, last week Jen was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. We are praying and believing for her healing but we all know this next journey of surgeries and radiation will be a long one. We know she is going to kick cancer, but as friends, we want to help support her during this time so she can use all her energy getting better! If you know Jen, you know she is always taking care of others, and now, we need help to take care of her! Jen and her husband are both self employed and due to the extreme treatments Jen will be unable to work. Jeff (her husband) has also had to miss a lot of work caring for the kids through her recent tests and treatments. He will be missing more in the upcoming months to be by her side. The money used will go towards traveling expenses, care hotels, medical bills/co-pays and only the basic NEEDs to get through the next year to help take care of her boys so she can see them and her husband during treatment..... Jen would never ask for anything and that's why we are...
A letter from Jen : .
I have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer that has spread to my lymphnodes and will be having surgery to remove my thyroid and an neck dissection to remove the surrounding lymphnodes followed by iodine radiation therapy. This all has transpired very suddenly. We are being very selective on how we explain this to the boys and not using the "cancer" word. We all know the boys deal with scary health issues of their own, the last thing I want is them worrying about me. Thank you friends every prayer is greatly appreciated through this hard time..
Update:
I have pre-op blood testing on Monday and 2 pre-op ultrasound guided biopsies on Wednesday. Good thoughts and prayers would mean a lot ....

For close family and friends :just a reminder:
Jen is trying to not mention the word cancer right now to allow the boys to enjoy being kids and not add any extra stress, they are aware that mommy needs to get healthy and isn't well. Jen is trying to avoid the details as long as possible to not add extra stress for the kids with there own health journey.
