On October 27, 2022, the 7th-grade scholars from Collington Square Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore will be taking a field trip to Medieval Times in Hanover, Maryland. This trip will serve as the culmination of our Identity in the Middle Ages unit and will bring all of the stories we read in this unit (Castle Diary, The Canterbury Tales, The Midwife's Apprentice) to life. This experience will be invaluable for our scholars to complete the final task of the unit, writing narrative fiction from the perspective of one of the Middle Ages characters we read about during the unit.

While our school is arranging transportation for our 35 7th-grade scholars, students are still responsible for the $40 admission to the educational event. This is an obstacle for many of our students, as Collington Square is a schoolwide Title I school.

This will also be the first field trip opportunity for these students since fourth grade because of the COVID pandemic.
