This is a post I never imagined making! Our sweet baby girl is fighting what we thought was a broken femoral neck on her femur. It has been a long journey and we’ve been faced with many obstacles. We finally decided to get a 2nd opinion at Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital on Tuesday. Wednesday they began testing and took her back to surgery. Everyone was thinking we were facing an infection. After more testing cultures and biopsies it was confirmed today that we are facing osteosarcoma. She has had multiple surgeries since being here. A CT scan Saturday did confirm nodules in the lung. Saturday night the Dr’s put in a chest tube to drain the air caught between the chest wall and her lungs. We are set for a PET scan Wednesday morning and will begin chemo when that is complete. We are facing two 12 week sessions of chemotherapy and we will discuss surgery on her leg between the chemo treatments. We have a long tough journey but if anyone knows the Mills crew we sure love a competition and we are determined to beat this monster. We are placing all of our Faith in the Lord and follow his plans. Please continue to pray for her and our family.
