Pray For Raye! ✨

I am raising funds for my dear friend Bronte, Adrian and their beautiful baby girl Raye.

On the 20th of December they took their 8 month old baby girl Raye to the opticians, because they noticed white in Raye’s right pupil in pictures with a flash. After a whirlwind of testing and waiting for results for diagnosis, they were sent to the emergency eye clinic, where they were hit with the heart shattering news, that their gorgeous amazing 8 month old little baby girl Raye has Retinoblastoma, a rare cancer in her eyes! She has one large tumour in one eye and one that has started in the other. The plan is to shrink the tumours with a high dosage of chemotherapy over a full day each time! MRI, lumber puncher and Hickman line was fitted in one day while she was put to sleep for 4 hours! While in theatre for the first time, she flat lined and had to have an emergency team to bring her back to life. Raye has to be put to sleep every month to check if chemotherapy is working alongside chemotherapy. This will be a huge risk to her life each time.

She started her chemotherapy 16/01/25, which will continue monthly over the next 6 months, having chemotherapy at 8 months of age is going to have huge side effects to their little baby, following on from this, she will then continue to have laser therapy in Birmingham children's hospital with the specialist retinoblastoma team every month until she is around 16 years old! So she will be spending pretty much of her childhood in theatre, which as you can imagine is very tough news to swallow.

This is any parent’s worst nightmare, devastatingly this is Bronte, Adrian and little Raye’s reality.

All money raised will be sent to Bronte, to help ease the financial pressures of being unable to return to work, trips back and forth Birmingham, and in general, the daily struggles, managing family life with her other baby, Dawson, etc, that have come with this unimaginable diagnosis.
