Pray for Chris Woodall

If ya'll know Chris, and, especially if you know Deena, you know that she is going to be all over my case for starting this page....but Chris & Deena are ALWAYS there for everyone else and now is our chance to be there for them! Please cover Chris & Deena and their boys, Levin & Ches, in prayer. Their faith in Jesus is strong so let's lift them up and support them in every way that we can because ya'll know they're forever doing the same for us.

Here's their story.

Today, August 10th around 10am, Chris was out working on his jobsite in Youngsville. That's when his wife, Deena, got the call that every builder's wife prays she never gets. After Deena answered all that we knew here at work was that it was Chris on the phone and that something was really wrong. We heard Deena ask Chris, "Where are you? Is there anyone else there? Pass the phone to somebody else." Then Deena then ran out of the office to get to the hospital.

At 10:45am we got a call from Deena. She'd made it to the hospital and was waiting on the emergency crew bringing Chris. Earlier, when she'd asked Chris to pass the phone to someone else, this sweet lady took the phone and told Deena what she knew and where to meet the emergency crew that would be transporting Chris. Ya'll this lady is the one and only neighbor anywhere near the new home Chris was working on.  She said that she never comes home during the day but that something just prompted her to do so today! She heard Chris yelling, went to help him, got on the phone with Deena, prayed over her and Chris, and remained there with Chris till the emergency crew arrived.

At 1pm Deena called to update us again. Chris was stable and in an emergency bay waiting to be transferred to a bigger hospital for surgery.  He'd been operating his bobcat that morning and it started making a funny noise. So he'd hopped off and opened the door to the fan. The fan sucked his left hand in and sliced from the middle of his left forearm through his palm. Everything from his elbow down is broken and the fan went through his tendons so he'll have to have multiple surgeries and skin grafts. One bit of good news is that they did a digit test and as of right now he has pulse in all of his fingers on his left hand. The doctors are predicting that won’t last, but for now, it's a little bit of sunshine on a really hard day.

At 4:30pm we got a text from Deena saying that they were taking Chris back for surgery. Here are all the little miracles she's already thanking God for:
"Just sat down in waiting room at duke. He just now is going into surgery. God has been so good.
1- neighbor home to take care of him when he passed out in road
2- awesome paramedic that truly worked with him being claustrophobic and didn’t tie him down
3- that same paramedic came and found me to take me back to him.
4- Levin had already posted the webcast he was working on and could get to me fast.
5- we were able to stay in the trauma rooms and all rooms because (we were being good)
6- and very important ALL of his nurses and doctors have been top of the line. He has the top hand surgeon and anesthesia at Duke.
Granted his hand is completely n 180 deg bend. (arm laying out normal his palm faces up and all fingers are going in all different directions. )
7- only 2 of his fingers are lacking feeling as of now. AND he just did miss his main artery.
8- left hand not right.
Sooo many more miracles I just can’t think. We have been blessed. They told us it’s gonna be a long long process but he’s doing great so far. They said it will be a really long surgery. I will let y’all know when I get my update. Love y’all. And thank u so much for getting the prayers going. "

At 11:55pm Deena texted this update after surgery:
“Chris is out of surgery. Wish the news were better. Wrist bones badly fractured-took out 8 of the 18 bones in wrist. Will not be able to flex his wrist again. Installed plate to replace bones in his hand and keep stable. Thumb tip has a tiny bit of feeling/movement but that’s it. Three fingers in middle have no feeling at all-could have 15-22 surgeries to try to get nerves reconnected for just a tiny bit of feeling/movement. Pinky is perfect. Doctors waiting to see if skin on fleshy side of palm is alive or dead. Fatty part of thumb-gone. Will be in hospital for at least a week maybe more. Keep praying.”

Ya'll my heart hurts. Chris and Deena are going through so much but are staying strong. These next few months won't be so fun for them but if we can help cover some of their medical costs they can focus on getting Chris well again! We'll keep updating as we know more.

We love you, Woodall fam, and are covering ya'll in prayer!
