Pray & Support Our Family During Dad’s Long Recovery Journey
Donation protected
As most of you know, my dad was flown to Columbia Saturday morning for emergency surgery for a gangrene infection. We didn’t know what the outcome would be, but so far, he is a miracle. Due to already being an amputee, he will have a very long road of rehab and recovery and possibly dialysis. Unfortunately, my brother and I have had to jump in and help financially with the normal household bills and expenses, alongside already having our own household. I have never in a million years dreamed we would be having to ask for help, but the uncertainty is scary, and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. The only income is my mom’s small amount of disability and social security. My brother and I have already had to suddenly help and get things taken care of. The medical bills are unknown at this time, but due to my dad not having insurance, and being denied in the past, I am sure they will start pouring in. We do have a social worker assisting my mom at the hospital to hopefully get him approved going forward for disability, since he should have got it years ago when he lost his leg, but was denied. Many have asked how they can help, and the #1 way is to keep praying. Pray for dad’s health to continue to improve, pray for my mom’s health in the midst of all this, and pray that my brother and I are doing the right thing by stepping in and taking over what needs to be done and that we make all the right decisions. The funds received will go directly to my brother and I as we manage the household expenses for our parents so they have one less thing to worry about. We are so thankful for all of the phone calls, texts, prayers, visits, etc. We never knew how many people actually cared for us until now. We are so blessed to have all of these wonderful people in our lives.
