Update:
I have successfully completed the 2026 London Marathon!
Thank you for all of your support! More updates to follow soon!

Hi everyone,

On Sunday, April 26th, I’ll be lining up to run the London Marathon 2026 for the first time. While 26.2 miles will be one of the toughest physical challenges I’ve ever taken on, it is nothing compared to the battle my Uncle Jignesh is fighting 5,000 miles away in Raipur, India.

The Reality of the Situation:

For nearly four years, my uncle has been living with End-Stage Renal Disease (Kidney Failure). To stay alive, he depends on maintenance haemodialysis 3 to 4 times every single week. This isn’t a choice — it is his lifeline.

This cause is deeply personal to me. In December 2025, I travelled to Raipur and visited my uncle. During that trip, I personally met with his doctors and the medical staff involved in his treatment. I saw first-hand the incredible care they provide, but I also saw the financial strain that has built up after years of ongoing treatment and multiple emergency hospitalisations, including as recently as Nov-2025.

How Your Support Helps:

Based on current currency conversion rates your donation can go a very long way in India, making a real and immediate difference:
  • £24 pays for one full, life-saving dialysis session.
  • £85 covers his treatment, vital injections, and medications for an entire week.

Transparency and Trust:

I want to be completely clear about where your money goes. Every penny raised will be sent via international fund transfer directly to MMI Narayana Hospital to be credited to my uncle's patient account. This ensures the funds go exactly where they're needed: towards the medicine and medical equipment used in his treatment, and the staff who support him every week during the dialysis.

My London Marathon Journey:

I was fortunate enough to secure my marathon place through the public ballot. This means that I am free to choose a cause that is close to my heart, and so 100% of the funds raised here will do directly to my uncle's medical care (excluding platform fees, if applicable).

I have trained long and hard since receiving my ballot place, with many early mornings, late nights, short lunch-time jogs and weekend long-runs to get geared up for this event, preparing both physically and mentally for this challenge.

As part of my journey, I’ve completed:
  • Cambridge Town & Gown 10K (October 2025).
  • Cambridge Half Marathon (March 2026).
  • Weekly Parkruns and cross-training on stationary & road-bikes.

A Note on Gift Aid:

As this fundraiser supports my uncle’s personal medical treatment and not a UK-registered charity, this page is not eligible for Gift Aid. However, by sending the funds directly to the hospital, we ensure the most immediate and direct impact on his health.

And finally:
Whether you’re able to “buy a session” for £24 or simply give what you can, you are helping me keep my uncle fighting.
