Prateek is a 16 year old boy from Ghaziabad - India, who was told by doctors he would never be a dancer. Although he loved all kinds of sports and movement from a young age, a congenital weakness in his joints and muscular development prevented him from building the necessary strength. Despite this, as he got older, Prateek yearned to be a professional dancer and, especially, to train in the demanding and highly athletic art of classical ballet. He spent many months during lockdown doing weight training and special exercises to build his muscles and strengthen his joints and at the age of 14 mustered up the courage to attend his first ballet class at IFBC with Maestro Fernando Aguilera There was no looking back! His teacher saw his gift, his passion and his discipline and he was offered a full scholarship to train for 6 hours a day. Now Prateek is ready for the next leap - to a ballet school abroad. However he is from a modest background and needs financial help to support his auditions and training overseas. Please contribute to this fundraiser so the boy who was told he couldn’t dance can make his dream a reality!
