Prateek Dhar - Emergency Medical Expenses

Prateek Dhar is a dynamic, vibrant man who has always lit up every room he's ever been in.
At this moment, he lies in the ICU of Carson Tahoe Regional Hospital, fighting for his life. On Saturday, April 10th 2021, he was having dinner with friends, and choked on a piece of food that got lodged in his airway. He lost consciousness, and his best friends did all they could to try and help while they waited on the ambulance. The ambulance arrived, removed what was stuck in his throat and took him to the hospital.
He is breathing only with the ventilator, and is in an induced coma. He is being pumped with all kinds of IV medications. The doctors are worried about his brain function and he's having multiple seizures. He is going to be transferred via helicopter to a Level 1 Trauma Center with Neuro ICU for treatment.
My mom is here from India, and I rushed over from NJ. Neither my mom and I are local to Nevada and need to pay for accommodations, his hospital costs (Prateek is uninsured - he lost his job at the start of the pandemic, just got a job and was supposed to start next week), and potential long-term care and rehabilitation will be needed if and when he recovers. Our Dad passed away in 2008 and my mom is retired.
