Kami-reddi For Recovery: Tiny But Mighty
Donation protected
On the night of December 27th 2020 we received a call no one is ever ready to answer. One of our beloved third year Neurology residents Prasuna Kamireddi was hospitalized while visiting her husband over the holiday break with sudden neurological symptoms of her own. Now with right sided weakness and aphasia, Prasuna’s fight has found her in the neurocritical care unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center fighting for her future. In an effort that originated in funding an iPad for her family to see and communicate with her while in isolation, we had an overwhelming response from those that have grown to know and love her over the last 3 years at WVU. Prasuna has and always will be our brightest light during our darkest times. As we deal with the shock, sadness, and thoughts of our co-resident, we can think of nothing else but to rally around her, and provide support from afar that is reflective of our admiration and love for an individual who deserves it all, and more. With the Ipad for communication now covered, all further proceeds from this fund will be given directly to Prasuna’s family for medical funds and expenses incurred during her recovery.
While we continue to press forward with our supporting efforts, our prayers and thoughts are with Prasuna, her husband, her family, and for the care and wisdom of her medical teams.
All funds from this campaign will be transferred to Prasuna's husband, Vignesh Kannan, to be used for her medical expenses and ongoing therapy.
