For years, Pramesh’s life has been defined by fear, uncertainty, resilience, and the fight to keep moving forward when everything seemed stacked against him. He came to the United States as a teenager and, like so many others, decided to stay. For him, home wasn't such a nice place to be. For 30 years, Pramesh lived undocumented in the US, until one day he was detained by ICE. He had an order of removal but there was no longer any record of him in Nepal after so many years rendering him effectively stateless. Because of this, Pramesh spent over three years in detention—three years and nine days that tested his strength, patience, and belief in a better future.
Pramesh held on to hope. He believed that one day he would have the chance to rebuild, to contribute, and to live with dignity and purpose. Today, Pramesh is still facing challenges. With a final order of removal and limited support, he is navigating a system that often feels overwhelming and isolating. But he refuses to give up. Pramesh believes his story is not over—it’s just beginning a new chapter.
Pramesh is asking for help not just to survive, but to rebuild. He doesn't currently have permission to work in the US and is trying to manage a handful of medical issues. Your support will go toward securing stable housing, covering basic living expenses, accessing legal and community resources, and creating a path toward independence and self-sufficiency. He is committed to turning his struggle into strength and wants to work, grow, and give back to the community that stands with him during this difficult time.
With all that Pramesh has been through, he still wears a smile every day and is very positive. This fundraiser provides a chance to transform hardship into hope. If you can, please donate. If you can’t, sharing this story means just as much. Every bit of support brings Pramesh one step closer to rebuilding his life. Thank you for believing in him.
